Capitol Hill Day

Saturday, September 28, 2019, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Join the Capitol Visitor Center and our neighbors for Capitol Hill Day, with grounds tours, demonstrations, talks and activities for all ages.

Come share our commemoration of Congress’ 1819 return to the Capitol following the War of 1812.

Stop by the tables hosted by the Capitol’s shops. Learn about the masonry, painting, sheet metal work, gilding and more that have preserved this landmark for 200 years.

Enjoy tours of the beautiful Capitol Grounds throughout the day. Take a walking tour of the neighborhood led by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society. Check out the activities at the U.S. Botanic Garden, the Belmont-Paul Women’s Equality National Monument, the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, the Library of Congress, and American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial.

Schedule available here. Please check back as more events will be added in the coming weeks.
